File Preparation Checklist

1)  File Size and Bleed

All files must be setup to the actual print size, plus a 1/8" bleed on each side.  For example, a 4"x6" postcard would be setup to 4.25x6.25.  This allows us a safety net while trimming your prints to size.  When the file is prepared, please do not add any crop or guide marks.

2)  File Resolution

We require a minimum of 300dpi for all artwork.  Anything less then 300dpi will result in a pixelated or blurry print.

3)  Color Mode

Artwork must be prepared in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) Mode.

4)  Artwork Safety Zone

Keep all critical text and images within the safety zone.  For example, if your artwork size is 4.25" x 6.25", please keep your critical information within 1/8" of the cut line (3.875" x 5.875).

4) Fonts and Lines

When creating files on vector based software such a illustrator, inDesign, or Freehand, all text must be converted to outlines before generating the final PDF file. If working out of Photoshop, simply flatten the image. Fonts smaller than 8pt are not recommended, although they show up clear on your screen, they may not print as clear.

5) Borders on Artwork

We do not recommend borders. However, if they are necessary in your artwork, keep the minimum border thickness to make it possible for us to cut as evenly as possible. We do not guarantee perfect trimming.
